Uno dei protagonisti dell’autunno e di Halloween a casa Lush è senza dubbio Lord of Misrule, un personaggio molto colorito e colorato.
Ama travestirsi da bomba da bagno e da crema doccia, oggi lo incontriamo in veste di ballistica.

One thing is sure, the powerful protagonist of holiday season, in particular Halloween, at Lush Cosmetics is Lord of Misrule, a real Lord with capital “L” ed a very strong personality!
He loves to dress up as bath bomb or shower cream, today we’ll meet him as a bath bomb!

Una sfera turchese, quasi verdina, con tanti cristalli che scoppiettano nell’acqua e una decorazione a mò di coroncina. Cosa lo rende un “signore”? Almeno tre particolarità.
La prima caratteristica che salta in mente o, molto meglio, al naso è la profumazione a tratti pungente, un pizzicore dovuto al pepe.
Questa ballistica contiene, nel suo cuore di bicarbonato e cremor tartaro, olio essenziale di pepe nero e di patchouli, essenza di vaniglia ed estratto di gardenia.
A tratti si possono sentire le note distintamente, ma prevale lo speziato del pepe e il patchouli, mentre un tocco di dolce della vaniglia, sempre equosolidale, ammorbidisce il tutto. Questo mix di essenze lo rende davvero invitante e difficile da dimenticare.
La seconda è l’effetto cromatico. Buttare un Lord of Misrule in acqua è un vero spettacolo!

Here’s him, a greenish turquoise ball with tiny crystals that crackles with water and a sort of crown decoration all around. What makes he a “Lord”? I think, at least three peculiarities.
The first one that comes in my mind or, way better, to my nose is its scent. Sometimes stinging due to black pepper. Yes, this bath bomb contains in his heart of baking soda and cream of tartar, essential oil of black pepper and patchouli, vanilla essence and extract of gardenia.
Sometimes you can feel clearly these notes separately but spicy pepper previals with patchouli, while the sweet touch of fair trade vanilla softens everything.
This mix of essences makes Lord of Misrule inviting yet hard to forget.
The second main features is the colour effect. Throwing Lord of Misrule in water is a real show!

La sfera gira e rigira, creando mulinelli rosa, verdi, turchesi e schiuma bianca… e alla fine? Rosso sangue! Le foto e il video vi renderanno un’idea del divertimento! Non vi viene già voglia di buttarvi nella vasca con lui?
L’ultima nota è positiva per la pelle ed è una sensazione di morbidezza assoluta.
La pelle diventa soffice come quella di un bimbo dopo una breve immersione nell’acqua incantata! Un prodotto che sa far parlare di sé!

This ball goes round and round while floating and creating pink, green, white and turquoise foam… and at the end? Bloody red! The photo collage and my video will give you a glimpse of the fun! After watching it, you’ll want to jump in the tub with him.
The last note is good for your skin: Lord of Misrule is extremely hydrating.
It doesn’t just relax and entertain with his “fireworks” but it leaves the skin soft and smooth like baby skin! For this product, Lush knew how to make people talk about it!

Lord of Misrule è uno dei pezzi in edizione limitata creata da Lush Cosmetics, ritornata anche questo anno in occasione di Halloween 2015; si trova online e in bottega al prezzo di 4,95€.
Il prezzo è un po’ alto per un prodotto che si usa una sola volta, tuttavia è molto particolare ed è estremamente idratante.
Credo che valga la pena annusarlo in negozio.

Lord of Misrule bath bomb is one of the Halloween 2015 limited edition bath product; you can find it online or in any Lush shop at 3,95£ in the UK and 6.95$ in the US (check your local Lush site in order to see prices and availability).
In my opinion, the price is quite high outside UK, especially if I think it’s a “one usage product”, but it’s still a very unique bath bomb and it’s extremely hydrating.
I think it’s worth a sniff and a visit to a Lush shop.

Dopo una giornata all’università e dopo il mio primo corso di magistrale in assoluto*, avevo un’unica idea in mente: ritornare nella bottega Lush in via Toledo e comprare un prodotto di Halloween.
Ho provato tanti prodotti Lush per capelli e corpo, ma non avevo ancora usato qualcosa in edizione limitata per la festa più colorita dell’anno e la mia scelta è caduta su una gelatina da doccia!
Perché? Perché è utile ed è divertente da usare ghiacciata.
Così ho comprato Nightwing e chiesto di fare qualche scatto per il blog… a quel punto è arrivato un invito per il pomeriggio.
Lo staff della bottega Lush Napoli mi ha invitato a scoprire tutte le novità per Halloween e per Natale 2015 e, se avete un po’ di pazienza, vi mostrerò in un paio di articoli tutto quello che ho scoperto al riguardo.

After a morning spent at the University for my first ever master course*, I had just one idea in mind: coming back to the Lush shop in via Toledo to buy a Lush Halloween product.
I’ve tried so many Lush products for hair and body, but I haven’t used yet something in limited edition for the spookiest and most colourful event of the year and my choice fell on a shower jelly!
Why? Well, because it’s useful and fun to use… iced! So I’ve bought Nightwing and asked to make some shots for the blog… then an incredible invitation came for the coming afternoon.
The lovely staff from the Lush Napoli shop invited me to discover the new guys for Halloween and Christmas 2015, and, if you have a little patience, I’ll show you in a couple of articles what I’ve found out about them.

I prodotti Lush sono sempre particolari per colori, forme, effetti e profumi; quelli creati per Halloween e Natale 2015 lo sono ancora di più!
L’olfatto gioirà perché la caratteristica di questi prodotti sono l’incontro di note dolci, la vaniglia equo-solidale, e speziate.
Si tratta di un mix che avvolge e strega i sensi; rilassa e stimola allo stesso tempo.
Se fate un salto in bottega sarete rapiti anche voi da questa particolarità.

Lush products are always particular in colours, shapes, scents and effects; those created for Halloween and Christmas 2015 are even more!
Your sense of the smell will enjoy these limited edition bath and body products because their main feature is a particular olfactive notes combination, that is a mixture of sweet scents, like fair trade vanilla, and spicy oils and infuses.
This kind of aroma will wrap and capture you, relax and energize at the same time.
If you pop in a Lush shop, you’ll be hypnotized by this particularity.

Al centro del negozio, davanti alla cassa, facevano bella mostra di sé i prodotti in tema Halloween:
Lord of Misrule in formato ballistica, una bomba da bagno che frizza ed esplode in un arcobaleno rosa e turchese con finale a sorpresa.
Ha note di vaniglia, patchouli e pepe nero e lascia la pelle idratata, liscia e soffice.
Nightwing: non vi lasciate ingannare da questo pipistrello viola!
Ricorda una gelatina di mirtilli, ma profuma di lime.
Il suo profumo è fresco e frizzante, ricarica le batterie dopo una giornata di studio!
Contiene aloe vera e vitamina E, per essere delicato sulla pelle, ed è contenuto in un vasetto di plastica; così potrete metterlo in frigo o in congelatore prima di usarlo!

At the center of Lush Napoli shop, Halloween products have been proudly displayed:
Lord of Misrule bath bomb: a magic sphere that fizzes and explodes into pink, white and turquoise foam swirls with a surprise at the end. It has vanilla, patchouli and black pepper notes and leaves the skin hydrated, smooth and very soft.
Nightwing: don’t let this bad guy fool you! Even if it may remind you of a big blueberry jelly, it smells of lime. Its scent is fresh and crisp, it recharges your batteries after a day of studies!
It also contains aloe vera and vitamin E to be gentle with your skin; it’s sold inside a plastic jar, so that you can use and store it with ease and put it in the refrigerator before your shower, because it’s better cold!

Sparkly Pumpkin è pura magia, lascia una scia di polvere glitterata dorata al suo passaggio. Basta toccare questa zucca per rimanere incantati…
E’ uno spumante da bagno da sbriciolare nella vasca, sotto l’acqua corrente.
Crea tantissima schiuma e ha un profumo speziato con un tocco di fresco lime.
Ho aggiustato la vasca da bagno per poterla usare!
Se siete tipi da doccia, c’è la versione in crema di Lord of Misrule: lo stesso aroma intrigante, arricchito con germe di grano e vitamina E per idratare la pelle.
Il risultato è un bagnoschiuma verde zombie che fa tanto bene! Le ragazze dello staff consigliano di accoppiarlo con Christingle, un balsamo corpo in edizione limitata natalizia che va risciacquato dopo l’applicazione. Lascia un fresco, quasi cristallino, profumo di menta piperita e mentolo. L’ho provato ed è un’esperienza favolosa!
Anche i prodotti di Halloween meritano di essere confezionati per le feste, proprio perché stregati, ma di buon cuore!

Sparkly Pumpkin is pure magic, it leaves a trail of glittery golden dust in its wake.
Just touch this wicked pumpkin to be enchanted… it’s a bubble bar, one has to crumble it in the bath tub under the running water to see loads of foam. It has a spicy aroma with a touch of fresh lime. I’ve fixed my bath tub so I can use it!
If you are a shower guy-gal, then you can try Lord of Misrule creamy version: it has the same intriguing scent, but it’s a shower cream enriched with wheat germ and vitamin E to hydrate the skin. The result is a zombie-sque green fluid that does only good things to and for you, no harm… it won’t eat you!
The girl at the shop recommended to pair it with Christingle, a body conditioner in limited edition for Christmas 2015. A rinse off pure treatment you can enjoy with your touch and nose because it leaves a fresh, almost crystal clear, scent of peppermint and menthol.
I’ve tried it and I think it’s a fabulous experience!
Even crazy Halloween products deserve to be nicely packed for the holidays because they’re bewitched but goodhearted!
These bath products above are available in funny gift kits ready to be donated or stored until Christmas time: with Pumpkin Heebie-Jeebie and Bat Heebie-Jeebie you can make both bath tub enthusiasts and quick shower people happy!
But if you like to “do it yourself” your gifts, you can opt for a furoshiki, from the Japanese idea of knotted square tissues: Pumpkin (see here in which country it’s currently available) and Pink Moon furoshiki are an eco-friendly idea as they can be reused many time overtime as people want!

Lo staff è sempre gentile, canterino e pronto a spiegarti come funzionano i prodotti, qual’è la scelta migliore per ogni caso e come abbinarli. E’ pronto ad applicarti scrub e balsamo, a creare schiuma da uno spumante da bagno e “giocare” con te.
Abbiamo scelto il nostro prodotto preferito in assoluto, tra tutti quelli scoperti fino a quel momento, e fatto una selfie tutti insieme. Cosa ho scelto? Ho in mano un blocco scuro… Chiedo venia a Lord of Misrule e a Biancaneve, la quale è da poco tornata in vista del Natale; adoro entrambi, ma ho trovato Reindeer Rock e non ho potuto dire di no ad un sapone con tante renne stampate e un profumo di frutti rossi resinoso.
Al mio naso indagatore è parso molto più caldo che fruttato, ciò nonostante perfetto per il grande freddo!

The staff members in the Lush shops are always kind and friendly, they’re ready to sing and explain how products work, what is the best choice for you and how to mix and match them for the best result.
They can apply on your hand a scrub or a body lotion to make you feel the difference and touch the greatness of Lush products or make tons of foam from a tiny piece of bubble bar like “playing” with you.
So, for example we’ve picked our favourite launch among all the Halloween and Christmas items and did a selfie together. What have I choosen?
I’m holding a dark block.. I apologize to Lord of Misrule and Snowcake soap, that has come back this year again; I love both a lot but I’ve found Reindeer Rock and I couldn’t say no to cute stamped reindeers and a resinous, red fruits scent.
In “my inquiring nose’s opinion” this soap is warmer than fruity, but this is what makes it a great product for the big chill period!
