Anno nuovo, casa nuova? No, ma immagino… New year, new house, new living room?

Avete mai fantasticato su una casa tutta vostra? Ecco, esatto!
Ho iniziato dal salotto: muri bianchissimi, mobili chiari e dal design lineare, parquet e, soprattutto, tanti gadget e accessori colorati e originali.
Prendereste un tè da me?

New year’s resolution? I hope so, in the meantime I’m cheering me up by thinking about how my first real living room would be. My actual one is quite boring and dark with very heavy wooden furniture, an angular fireplace and a large sofa.
I started with one of Modani’s modern sofas because I’m sure my living room, as all my fantasy home, would have white coloured furniture with linear design, white walls, parquet and… some colourful accessories, for sure!

In my opinion, room accessories must be peculiar (see the vases on the table and the framed picture) and fluffy (see the pillows), while the furniture must be clear so, despite being optically big, they shouldn’t make the room too full.

Avon – kit sopracciglia perfette/ perfect eyebrow kit in Soft Brown (review)

A parte le Glimmerstick, potreste ancora incappare in questo piccolo kit Avon, il kit sopracciglia perfette. Ve lo mostro per dovere di cronaca, perché potrebbe sbucare in qualche supplemento di catalogo.
Il kit sopracciglia perfette contiene un panetto di cera, un colore compatto, un pennello angolato con due estremità e uno specchietto, il tutto dentro la classica confezione quadrata firmata Avon.

Avon has finally its own eyebrow kits, lightweight compacts with the basic things one needs to redefine the brows. After its Glimmersticks I knew I had to try it, so I did!
The Perfect Eyebrow Kit contains a wax pat, an eyebrow colour, a double-ended angled brush and a mirror, all inside the typical Avon’s sleek squared case.

E’ molto facile da usare e bisogna solo adoperare poco prodotto alla volta: bisogna stendere la cera, dove serve, con l’applicatore e tamponare la polvere compatta sopra lo strato di cera con l’altra estremità del pennellino o con il pennello che amate di più! Le sopracciglia appariranno riempite in modo naturale e, come promesso, il colore non colerà.
La cera svolge davvero bene il proprio dovere e il pigmento compatto ha una texture molto fine, tuttavia ho trovato l’applicatore troppo largo e ho finito per usare il mio pennello per sopracciglia per riempirle.
Il kit che ho acquistato è Soft Brown e include una tonalità calda, non troppo scura, di marrone; purtroppo non è affatto il mio colore naturale, ma era l’unica opzione possibile da scegliere.
Se date un’occhiata rapida a questo post, noterete il risultato in foto; nella vita reale questo kit crea un’ombreggiatura calda e naturale, anche se risulta ancora troppo chiara per me.

PRO:
la cera fissa il colore molto bene;
il pigmento colorato è molto fine;
è comodo da portare in borsa (grazie allo specchio incluso)

CONTRO:
non ci sono abbastanza colori tra cui scegliere;
l’applicatore è troppo largo

It’s super easy to use and I suggest to work with small amount of powder at a time: apply the colourless wax with the applicator where needed and apply  the eyebrow powder on the top with the other side of the applicator or your own eyebrow brush! Your brows are naturally filled for a long time and, as promised, the colour doesn’t smudge.
The wax does really well its job and the eyebrow colour is fine in texture, but I find the applicator quite large for this purpose, so that I ended up using my brush to apply the colour.
The kit I’ve bought is Soft Brown which include a medium warm tone of brown, it isn’t my natural colour but it was the darkest option available in Italy.
If you take a look at this post, you can notice the result in pictures; in real life this kit creates a kind of natural shading (yet still too light).

PROS:
the wax holds the colour well,
the eyebrow colour is fine,
perfect to carry around (thanks to the mirror)

CONS:
not enough colours,
the applicator is too wide

There are tons of eyebrow kits on the market but I think this is the simplest one to start with and, maybe, the type one really needs (without items people will never use like stencils or micro tweezers).

Ci sono tantissime palette e kit per sopracciglia sul mercato, però credo che questo sia il più semplice con cui iniziare e, molto probabilmente, contenga quello che è più strettamente necessario.
Mi conosco fin troppo bene e so che non userei, non per pigrizia, gli stencil e le mini pinzette che spesso si trovano in altri cofanetti.
Non è un cattivo prodotto, ma sarei stata molto più soddisfatta con un colore leggermente più scuro.
Se siete castane, potrete trovarvi bene con il kit sopracciglia perfette.

Belli Capelli: un nome un programma!
E’ un trattamento pre-shampoo adatto a tutti i tipi di capelli, è indicato sopratutto per quelli secchi e crespi e ha un deciso profumo di gelsomino.
E’ una “pozione magica per capelli sempre sotto controllo, morbidi, lisci e belli belli in modo assurdo”.
Contiene tanti nutrienti naturali: infuso di henné rosso, per proteggere e donare brillantezza, e un mix di oli idratanti quali olio extravergine d’oliva, olio di germe di grano, olio di noce brasiliana e olio extravergine di cocco.
Sembra un prodotto da sogno, è proprio così?

This cream is a pre-shampooing treatment for all types of hair, especially recommended to dry and frizzy hair, it has a “ jasmine fragrance (that) will stick with you for days after using it, so you’ll have irresistibly soft, shiny and sexy smelling locks”.
This super rich product has red henna infusion, to protect and make your hair naturally shiny, and a mix of hydrating oils such as extra virgin olive oil, wheat germ oil, Brazil nut oil and extra virgin coconut oil.
This sounds great, so how is it exactly?

Belli Capelli è una crema gialla con una potente nota floreale di gelsomino; va applicato sui capelli asciutti e tenuto in posa per circa 20 minuti; si risciacqua facilmente con lo shampoo.
L’ho usato su tutta la lunghezza dei miei capelli e massaggiato sul cuoio capelluto, ma una grande quantità di prodotto è necessaria per ogni applicazione, quindi un barattolo di Belli Capelli finisce sempre subito.
Si lava via in un batter d’occhio e rende veramente i capelli morbidi, leggeri, meno crespi e facili da pettinare.
Il profumo di Belli Capelli è fenomenale e può durare un paio di giorni; dubito che tutti possano amarlo. La profumazione può risultare alquanto forte, così tanto che ho dovuto  chiudermi a chiave in bagno ogni volta che ho usato Belli Capelli.
Un piccolo prezzo da pagare per avere capelli belli belli in modo assurdo!
Ho una relazione di amore ed odio con i prodotti al gelsomino, ma questo non mi ha infastidito in modo particolare, probabilmente perché non ci sono pezzetti di fiori essiccati nel vasetto! (Leggete a proposito dello shampoo solido Godiva)
La lucentezza promessa da Belli Capelli è reale, ma è un gran peccato dover usare altri prodotti per controllare i miei ricci.

PRO:
è facile da usare;
è vegano;
idrata e “doma” i capelli crespi;
dona una naturale lucentezza

CONTRO:
bisogna un’abbondante quantità di prodotto;

Jasmine and Henna Fluff Ease is a yellow and smooth cream with a powerful jasmine scent, it has to be applied on dry hair and left there for 20 minutes, then rinsed off with shampoo.
I used it on the full length of my hair, I massaged it on the scalp too, and I’ve found I had to take a huge amount of product in order to coat my wild mane homogeneously.
However, it washes off easily and really makes my hair soft, extremely light, less fluffy and easy to comb.
The Jasmine and Henna Fluff Ease’s scent is phenomenal, in my case it lasts for two day but I doubt everyone will love it.
Its perfume can result very strong, so much that I had to lock myself in the bathroom and save other people’s noses!
I have a kind of love and hate relationship with jasmine-scented products but this one didn’t bother me a lot. This is probably because there aren’t flower bites in the mixture (read about Godiva solid shampoo instead).
The shine that this treatment promises is real but it’s a pity I should use an extra product to control my curls after it.

PROS:
it’s easy to use,
it’s vegan,
it conditions and tames hair,
it gives a nice shine

CONS:
it requires a huge amount to cover the hair completely,
it has a high price outside UK
(scent?)

Potete acquistare Belli Capelli nelle botteghe e nel negozio online Lush al prezzo di 20,95€.
Un vasetto dura poco, per questo il prezzo può risultare troppo alto; tuttavia Belli Capelli merita di essere “sniffato” in negozio o provato almeno una volta.
I miei capelli amano Belli Capelli, il mio portafoglio meno; è comunque di un ottimo prodotto.

It’s quite price outside the United Kingdom but it deserves to be tried once or at least to be sniffed in the shop! My hair loves it, my pocket a bit less, anyway it’s a nice product.

Manicure: anzitutto, sobrietà!/ 2015, first of all… sobriety

Oh 2015, sei già qui e mi hai già portato una gran bella sorpresa: l’influenza.
Non l’aspettavo affatto, ti ringrazio.
Riposo forzato a parte, dovevo tornare e mostrarvi cosa ho indossato quando l’orologio ha segnato l’ora X, ehm… la mezzanotte.
Ho optato, per una pura questione di etichetta, per una combinazione di colori elegante, benché minimale, infatti avevo pensato: “E’ meglio puntare sulla semplicità, che andare in giro con le mani tutte nude!”. Converrete con me, lo smalto è un vestito e con lui bisogna adeguarsi alle occasioni, ma non si può neppure andare completamente svestiti!

Oh 2015, you’re here and you’ve brought me a nice surprise: the flu! Thank you, however, I must come back and show you what I wore when the clock struck the midnight on new year’s eve.
For a pure matter of etiquette I was wearing a very elegant, yet basic, colour combination, I thought “it’s better simple than naked!”.

Per il nuovo anno ho ricacciato dalla scatola dei colori dei vecchi pezzi: ho applicato tre stati di uno smalto rosa traslucido (Petite Polish), ad eccezione dell’anulare dove ne ho applicato solo uno, seguito da due strati di smalto glitterato rosa (Chi Chi Polish).
Ho protetto il colore con due applicazioni dell’ Avon Smudge Fixer, un mio caro vecchio amico. Il risultato era lucido, una finitura molto simile a quella del gel.

For this new year manicure, I’ve taken back some old favourite nail polishes from my bottle box: I applied three coats of a sheer pink (Petite Polish) nail lacquer, except for the ring finger where I’ve used just one coat followed by two coats of a pink glitter topper (Chi Chi Polish). I sealed everything with two coats of the Avon Smudge Fixer.
The result is watery shiny with a kind of gel-like finish.

Facile, se non ridicolo. Potete ottenere lo stesso risultato con qualsiasi smalto rosa pastello e un topper rosa tono su tono.
Nota di servizio: le cuticole si scusano con grande imbarazzo, in quei giorni c’era un freddo polare e loro erano in un pessimo stato.

Easy peasy. You can achieve the same result with any pastel pink and a tone sur tone glitter nail polish.
Note: my cuticles apologize with great embarrassment, those were extremely cold days and they weren’t at their best.
