Infatti, si chiama “Nail Polish Obsession Tag”. Sono stata taggata da Kami per rispondere ad alcune domande create per chi ha qualche problema ossessivo compulsivo con le unghie smaltate.

1. Qual è il tuo brand preferito di smalti?
Adoro provare e mi innamoro facilmente, forse anche troppo. Tuttavia non posso dire con certezza di amare una marca, se di questa ho provato solo uno smalto che mi ha rapito il “cuore” come nel caso di essence, Color Club o Kiko.
Ammetto che mi piacciono gli smalti Avon, che ho usato tantissimo per proporli alle clienti, e apprezzo in modo particolare i Nailwear pro+ dalla finitura metallica, i topper MAGIC effects e alcuni Color Trend. Ho comprato anche degli smalti Pupa e Debby e mi sono piaciuti…
2. Glitter sì o glitter no?
Glitter, assolutamente sì. Ogni occasione è buona per una cascata di glitter sulle mie mani. Di tutti i colori, forme e dimensioni, sono sempre gradite.
3. OPI, China Glaze o Essie?
Mannaggia! Che verogna! Finora ho usato solo smalti OPI, quindi dovrei scegliere lei/lui? 😀
4. Ogni quanto cambi smalto?
Dipende da alcuni fattori: dall’ispirazione, dall’umore e dal tempo atmosferico. Ebbene sì, se c’è una bella giornata di sole, sono felice e cambio smalto. Anche più volte a settimana.
5. Qual è il tuo colore preferito sulle unghie?
Tutte le sfumature partendo dal primario rosso, ma non discrimino gli altri colori!

1. What’s your favorite nail polish brand?
I like trying and trying, thus I fall in love relatively easily, maybe too much easily. Anyway, I can’t say I’m sure about my love for one particular brand, in case I’ve just used one nail polish I liked from it as it has happened with essence, Color Club or Kiko. I admit that I like Avon because I use them a lot and I’ve been using it since 2007 to show it to my clients and friends; I appreciate especially Avon Nailwear pro+ nail lacquers with metallic and satin finishes, MAGIC effects toppers and some Color Trend.
2. Yes to glitters or no to glitters?
Glitters, absolutely. Every occasion is good for a generous cascade of glitters on my nails. All shapes, colours and sizes are welcome.
3. OPI, China Glaze or Essie?
Damn and shame on me! So far I’ve only used OPI nail polishes, so should I choose it? : D
4. How often do you change your nail polish?
It depends on a few factors: inspiration, mood and weather. Yes, because if there’s a nice sunny day, I’m happy and I change my nail colour. Even several times a week.
5. What’s your favorite colour for your nails?
All shades starting from the primary red, but I do not discriminate the other colours.

Supponiamo che vi siate già annoiate della vostra vecchia manicure o che abbiate appena provato un nuovo colore alla moda che non vi soddisfa più di tanto, cosa fare?
Si possono escogitare alcune soluzioni per aggiornare e rendere la vostra “manicure del secondo giorno” più interessante e divertente di prima.
Con pois, topper glitterati o glequins (modo “moderno” di chiamare i glitter piatti) possiamo creare nuovi design e, ingegnosamente allo stesso, camuffare bollicine, graffi e impronte impreviste!
Avete bisogno di poche cose e poco tempo, solo una piccola dose di creatività è necessaria.

This is how to refresh and make your second-day manicure interesting and funnier than before.
With polka dots, glitter toppers or glequins (other cool way to call flat glitters for nails) we can create new designs while hiding bobbles, spots and digit prints!
You need few things and little time, just a small dose of creativity is necessary.
Date uno sguardo rapido alle vostre unghie e dite addio al vostro vecchio smalto, perché nulla sarà come prima!
Non vi consiglio di stendere un’ulteriore passata dello smalto che avevate indosso, rovinereste tutto! Usare un correttore sarebbe l’ideale ma non è facile da trovare, quindi partite direttamente con la trasformazione.
Cominciamo con i pois!
Look at your nails, done? Say goodbye to the old style because it won’t be the same anymore.
Before you go into action, don’t add a new layer of your previously worn nail polish, as you can mess everything up and get an uneven surface, while a nail polish smudge corrector would be great for this purpose but it isn’t easy to find.
Let’s get started with polka dots!
Su uno smalto bianco, in questo caso è quello dal kit per la french manicure Avon Nail Expert, tutti i colori risaltano di più.
Ho deciso di usare alcuni colori pastello, altri scuri ed uno neon: Avon Nailwear Pro+ Lemon Sugar, OPI Suzy Says Feng Shui, Eyeko Vintage Polish, Yamamay beauty arancio fluo e Avon Color Trend Vixen.
Potete usare le tonalità di smalto che avete e vi piacciono di più, inoltre avrete bisogno di alcuni extra necessari: dotting tool (quello a due estremità è dell’Avon, quello con la punta sottile faceva parte di questi acquisti), un foglio d’alluminio, della carta assorbente e del solvente per unghie.
Over a pure white nail polish (the one I was wearing comes from the Avon Nail expert French kit) all colours pop, I used both pale and dark nail lacquers plus a neon one.
I just chose a crème finish for this first manicure, thus all the attentions go to the different tones, not to a distracting shimmer.
The nail lacquers I used are: Avon Nailwear Pro+ in Lemon Sugar, OPI Suzy Says Feng Shui, Eyeko Vintage Polish, Yamamay beauty fluo orange and Avon Color Trend Vixen… cute, right?
You can use what you have and love the most; then you’ll need some dotting tools (the double end tool comes from Avon, the smaller one is part of this haul), an aluminum sheet, paper towels and nail polish remover.
Iniziate con uno smalto alla volta, mettete alcune gocce su un foglio di alluminio e create dei puntini con i dotting tool.
Ne ho usati due per creare pois di dimensioni diverse; dopo ogni puntino li ho puliti rapidamente strofinandoli su un pezzo di carta, per usare meno solvente possibile ed evitare piccoli disastri che immancabilmente accadono.
Quando sono rimasta soddisfatta dal risultato, ho pulito i dotting tool con il solvente e ho continuato questo procedimento con tutti gli alti colori.
Questo processo sembra abbastanza lungo ma credetemi, è meglio lavorare con ordine perché alcuni smalti tendono ad asciugarsi più velocemente rispetto agli altri, diventano collosi e creano fastidiosi fili.
Ho creato un effetto sfumato dipingendo punti più grandi e in maggiore quantità sulle punte, pois più piccoli e in numero minore vicino alle cuticole: è una cascata di allegri coriandoli!
Potete finire la manicure con un top coat o lasciare tutto au naturel come ho fatto io.
Il risultato è 3D sia alla vista che al tatto.
Start with one nail colour at a time, place a few drops over a piece of aluminum sheet and go creating your polka dots.
I used two dotting tools to achieve different dimensions and, after a couple of dots, I quickly cleaned the point of my dotter by rubbing it over some paper towel in order to use less nail polish remover as possible.
When I was fine with the result I cleaned the dotters with an acetone-free remover and I continued with the other nail lacquers.
I know, this process sounds quite long but believe me, it’s better to work per colour as some nail polishes tend to dry quicker than the others, they may become goopy and create annoying strands.
I created a gradient effect by painting bigger and more dots on the tips of my nails, lesser and smaller near the cuticles, it’s a waterfall of cheerful confetti!
You can finish off your manicure with a top coat or leave it au naturel as I did. The result is 3D both visually and to the touch.

The second way you can revamp your “old” manicure is adding extra shine!
Is there anything instantly funnier than glitters? I don’t think so and if you agree with me, you’re going to love this manicure!
Ho applicato un solo strato di Technic Carnival, poi l’ho applicato con una spugna partendo dalla base dell’unghia fino a metà lunghezza, creando un altro effetto sfumato.
Ho reso la superficie dello smalto più liscia con l’Avon Smudge Fixer (non preoccupatevi, potete usare qualsiasi top coat trasparente).
Carnival di Techinic è una festa in una bottiglietta: è una base trasparente carica di glitter, ovvero glitter esagonali da 1 e da mezzo millimetro color oro, rosso ciliegia, argento, blu e verde, ma tutto questo non era ancora abbastanza per me…
I applied one coat of Technic Carnival all over my nails, then I sponged it starting near the cuticle till the middle of my nails, in few words I created another gradient effect, then I smoothen the surface with Avon Smudge Fixer (don’t worry, you can use any clear top coat).
Technic Carnival is a party in a bottle: it’s a clear base loaded with 1mm and 1/2 mm gold, cherry red, silver, blue and green hexagonal glitters, but this wasn’t enough for me…
Mentre lo smalto era ancora fresco, ho applicato casualmente, aiutandomi con una matita cerosa, qualche altro glequin smeraldo #12, oro acido #7 e rosa antico #9.
Questi ultimi sono larghi poco meno di 2 mm e si trovano su Born Pretty Store a $ 1,99 l’uno. E’ un vero affare!
Ho finito questa manicure con un ultimo strato di top coat per sigillare tutto.
While the topper was still fresh I’ve randomly applied with a waxy pencil some BPS emerald #12, acid gold #7 and antique rose #9 glequins. These are less than 2 mm large and can be find on Born Pretty Store at a 1,99$ each. It’s a real bargain!
I’ve finished this manicure with a coat of fast drying top coat to seal everything.

E’ tempo di Natale anche per le vostre unghie! Queste sono le quattro idee per una manicure natalizia che mi hanno attirato di più su Pinterest e sono relativamente facili da fare.
Ho aggiunto qualche piccola nota e le rispettive fonti per aiutarvi a ricrearle, se vi piacciono.
1) Un albero di Natale non convenzionale: una french manicure nera e un albero di Natale, tracciato con un pennarello indelebile, sinuoso e nero sull’accent nail. Se avete una penna nera per la french, sarebbe l’ideale!
Il look è completato con un top coat bianco ad effetto speckled e una stella argentata sulla punta dell’albero. Qualsiasi top coat con glitter bianchi andrà bene e la stella, come queste che ho acquistato, deve essere applicata quando lo smalto è ancora fresco. Sta nevicando!
2) Questa idea dal blog Pshiiit.com è semplicemente carina: uno smalto azzurro con pois bianchi e un piccolo pupazzo di neve sull’accent nail. Lo smalto usato mi ricorda un po’ il vecchio Eyeko Rain Polish, ma qualsiasi smalto blu chiaro andrà più che bene.
Create alcuni puntini su tutte le unghie con un dotter o un oggetto con la punta arrotondata, createne due più grandi sull’anulare per il corpo dell’omino di neve. Tracciate, con smalti o pitture acriliche per unghie, gli elementi mancanti: il volto e gli accessori del pupazzo.
It’s also Christmas time for your hands! These are my four favourite manicures found on Pinterest, they are relatively easy to do. I’ll just add a few notes and their sources to help you recreating them.
1) A non conventional Christmas tree: it’s a black french manicure and an accent nail with a black, sinuous tree drawn with a permanent ink marker, as the blogger has done.
If you have a black french pen, that would be the perfection!
The look is refined with a white speckled effect top coat and a silver star on the top of the tree. Any white glitter top coat will be fine and the star, like these I own, should be place when the “special effect” nail lacquer is still wet. It’s snowing!
2) This idea from Pshiiit.com is simply cute: azure nail polish with white dots and a little snowman on the accent nail. The nail polish she used reminds me of the old Eyeko Rain Polish, any pale blue is fine. With a dotter or a rounded point object, place some white dots, draw two larger dots over a nail that will be your accent one and create the little man’s face and details with other nail polishes or acrylic paints.
3) Glitter colorati: sapete benissimo quanto li adori, vero?
Questa manicure combina una base neutra e colori natalizi, ovvero rosso, verde e un tocco di dorato.
Lo smalto glitterato è stato applicato a partire dalla base delle unghie; potete applicarlo con una spugnetta in modo da creare un delicato effetto sfumato ed evitare eccessi di smalto.
Quando tutto è asciutto, applicate un top coat trasparente per rendere i glitter lisci e uniformi.
4) La canna di zucchero è un design apparentemente semplice, ma richiede un pò più di tempo.
Per realizzare una manicure come quella quarta foto, iniziate con uno smalto bianco e, quando questo sarà completamente asciutto, applicate dello scotch adesivo o delle guide per la french manicure dei piedi, come le Nailene Perfect tips and toes, per formare delle strisce.
Ora toccherà a voi scegliere quanti o quanto larghe dovranno essere.
Applicate uno smalto rosso, semplice o glitterato. Lo smalto usato nella foto è Milani “Red Sparkle” .
Dopo aver dipinto a sufficienza gi spazi vuoti e mentre lo smalto è ancora umido, rimuovete lo scotch e lasciate asciugare per bene. Quando tutto sarà asciutto, applicare un top coat per uniformare la superficie.
3) Colourful glitters, you know how much I love glittery nails, right?
This manicure combines a neutral base and Christmassy tones (red, green and gold). The glitters have been applied starting from the base of the nail. You could use a sponge to apply the sparkly top coat in order to build the glitter layer with a nice gradient effect while avoiding excess nail polish.
When everything is dry, seal it with top coat to smooth the glitters.
4) Sugar candy cane design looks simple but may be quite time-consuming. To realized a manicure similar to the fourth picture, start with entire white-painted nails, when they are completely dry, apply some scotch tapes or toes french manicure guides, as they are straight, in order to form some stripes.
You decide how many or how large they should be. Apply a red nail polish of your choice, plain or glittery. In the picture, the nail polish featured is Milani “Red Sparkle”. When you have covered enough the empty spaces and the lacquer is still wet, remove quickly the tapes and wait till everything has dried up. Finish off by sealing everything with a top coat to smooth the result and even the surface.
